North Macedonia gdp per capita.

[edit]

Its not updated. It calculates gep per capita based on outdated population number from 2002. We had a census in 2021. Gdp per capita is over 9,000 for 2023 77.29.133.18 (talk) 13:33, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Czechia’s gdp per capita is below 30k, so it shouldn’t be green as green is only for 30k to 40k. Kriskowoah (talk) 19:49, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I suggest you raise your concerns with the editor who uploaded the map. M.Bitton (talk) 21:52, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why was Iran changed from its 2024 IMF number to something else?

[edit]

Self-explanatory. The IMF lists Iran's 2024 GDP per capita at current prices in market exchange rates as $5,310, which was listed under the IMF number on the page as of 26 April.

This was changed by one user today as being $929 for the year 2018 listed without an IMF source. I can't correct this but can another user please do so. 76.53.85.194 (talk) 00:19, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please can the map be updated with 2024 IMF data

[edit]

The map showing countries' IMF GDP per capita is still based on the 2023 figures, although the table has been updated with the 2024 IMF data. Please could the map be updated. I do not have the technical ability to do it, and in any case, as a new editor, I would not be able to do so as the article is semi-protected. ForestBeachLakes (talk) 21:40, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

which country needs to be updated? Titanx114 (talk) 19:04, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for asking. It is actually all countries represented on the map. The map is based on IMF data from October 2023 but the table of countries uses IMF data from April 2024. Therefore, it would be a case of updating the map in line with the table (for all countries) using the April 2024 data. As I am new to Wikipedia, I have no idea how much work that would involve. ForestBeachLakes (talk) 21:55, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please can someone look into updating the map. The IMF data in the table is from April 2024, but the data displayed on the map is still from 2023. As mentioned in my original post, I do not have the technical expertise to update the map myself. Maybe updating the map is a difficult task so only done infrequently (perhaps once a year), if so, please can someone let me know that. I am still fairly new to Wikipedia. Change & update Pakistan's nominal GDP & GDP per capita data 120.89.67.25 (talk) 18:39, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The IMF sources (i.e. the only column in the table that is less up to date than other countries) have 'no data' for Pakistan in 2024, which is why it still uses the 2023 figures. If you can provide a reliable source which does have the data, it can be updated. Irltoad (talk) 20:21, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

There are a total of 4 Wikipedia pages related to list of countries by gdp.

List of countries by GDP (nominal),

List of countries by GDP (nominal) per capita,

List of countries by GDP (PPP),

List of countries by GDP (PPP) per capita.

The problem is that even though all the pages use the data released by the IMF and sort and order the data by that, they treat countries like Taiwan and Kosovo very differently on each page.

On the GDP and PPP per capita pages, Taiwan and Kosovo have a grey background,

while on the GDP per capita and PPP pages, Taiwan and Kosovo have a white background like the other countries.

In former versions of GDP and PPP per capita pages, the criteria was simply "whether or not there is individual IMF data", regardless of whether the region was a country or not, or whether it was not a limited recognition.

In other words, the condition for a grey background and no ranking number to be displayed was  no IMF data . In that version, countries with individual IMF data, such as Taiwan and Kosovo, were properly ranked, and countries without IMF data, such as North Korea and Syria, had a grey background.

To resolve this current strange situation, I would like to make a suggestion.

In all four pages of GDP, GDP per capita, PPP, and PPP per capita, the criteria for not ranking numbering is set to  no IMF data .

This is the same state as the previous version.

No matter what conclusion is reached regarding how to number the rankings in this discussion, I hope that the handling on all four pages will be unified.

This discussion was started here. Talk:List of countries by GDP (nominal) Minchuchui (talk) 12:24, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Four UN members (Cuba, Liechtenstein, Monaco and North Korea) do not belong to the IMF hence their economies are not ranked below.

IMF should link to the wiki page for it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Monetary_Fund)

I personally did not know what it was and think it would be helpful to link to it from this page. Thedavemann (talk) 14:43, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"GDP per capita is often considered an indicator of a country's standard of living; however, this is inaccurate because GDP per capita is not a measure of personal income."

[edit]

The second statement is unsourced. There are sources for the first one though. I think this is problematic because it looks opinative and original. TheShadowRising (talk) 13:18, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think north Korea and Cuba should also have a number which will make this list of 194 countries 43.247.122.132 (talk) 15:21, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the EU from the Table

[edit]

Can we get a consensus on whether to remove the European Union (EU) from this article's table? It's not included on List of countries by GDP (nominal), why include it here? LittleCuteSuit (talk) 00:18, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
